PLAYER’S CODE

Play for the fun of it, not just to please your parents or coach.

 

·         Play by the rules.

·         Never argue with the officials’ decisions.

·         Control your temper.

·         Work equally for yourself & your team.

·         Be a good sport.

·         Try not to be negative to your opponent.

·         Treat all players on the field as you want to be treated.

·         Remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good.

·         Don’t be a show-off or try to be the player with the most goals.

·         Cooperate with your coach, teammates and opponents, for without them you don’t have a game.

 

 

 

GIRLS DIVISION III

 

All games are played at Great Hill Park, Jail Hill Rd., Haddam or  Sheldon Park, Rt. 80, Killingworth.  All games are played on Saturdays, rain date Sunday, same time.  Call the Recreation Hotline (345-8334), after 8:00 AM on Saturday to find out if your game has been postponed due to rain.  If you have an afternoon game, please wait until the afternoon to call the hotline.

 

*Players:  DO NOT DIG HOLES IN THE FIELDS WITH YOUR SPIKES.  DO NOT CLIMB ON NETS.  NO PIERCED EARRINGS.

PARENTS’ CODE

Do not force an unwilling child to participate in sports.

 

·         Remember children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, not yours.

·         Encourage your child to play by the rules.

·         Teach your child that an honest effort is as important as a victory so the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment.

·         Turn defeat to victory by helping your child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship.  Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a competition.

·         Remember that children learn best by example.

·         Applaud good plays by your team and by members of the opposing team.

·         Do not publicly question the officials’ judgment and never their honesty.

·         Support all effort to remove verbal and physical abuse from children’s sporting activities.

·         Recognize the value and importance of volunteer coaches.  They give their time and resources to provide recreational activities to your child.

·         Parents should encourage their children to play by the rules, that an honest effort is as important as a victory and applaud good plays by their own team as well as good plays by opposing teams.

From Route 9, heading SOUTH, take Exit 8.

  At the end of the exit ramp, take a LEFT on

Beaver Meadow Rd.

 

Or

 

From Route 9, heading NORTH, take Exit 8.

  At the end of the exit ramp, take a RIGHT on

Beaver Meadow Rd.

 

 

Continue to stop sign, approximately one mile.

  Take a left at the stop sign, go over the bridge.

Immediately bear to the far right on Jail Hill Rd.
