This program offers the opportunity to meet other parents and toddlers in a playgroup atmosphere. Parents will help their toddlers explore the different stations such as free play, puppets, drama, crafts, stories, and more. Gymnastics
Students will be introduced to basic floor tumbling as well as some apparatus use. They will work on front rolls, back rolls, cartwheels, handstands and bridges. They will learn to walk front and back on the balance beam as well as hops, skips and little jumps. Karate Kids
Meet friends and build self-esteem while learning the meaning of respect, self-discipline, concentration, and self-control. Students will be introduced to Washin-Ryu Karate-Do, a unique form of traditional Japanese Karate. Mr. Moan will also talk to the kids about safety awareness and how to avoid abductions.

Lights, Color, Action! - Uncover the hidden components in ordinary light and build your own Newton's Color Wheel to prove it. Attend a spectacular chemical energy display!
Sonic Sounds - Discover sound, sound waves, and the way household items can be used to create amazing movie effects. Use our multi-effects processor to make a cassette tape of your altered voice, with lots of cool special effects.

Presto! Magic Mania
Have fun learning basic introductory magic while building self-confidence and dexterity. Five different tricks will be taught in each session. Cheerleading
Students will learn a new jump each week as well as how to base a stunt and low-level lift. The group will practice motions and techniques to tight straight movements. A short cheer routine to music will be worked on weekly. Some tumbling will also be incorporated. Please wear shorts, leotard or tucked in shirt; and long hair in a ponytail.

Focus on Fitness
KIDS get off those couches and into the gym! This is an exciting after school class that is designed to bring fun and fitness together under one roof. The class is new every week! The workout is made up of partner and team relays, obstacle courses, fitness games and circuits. Kids will get a cardio workout, increase strength and endurance, and learn a sense of "team" through partner and group work. Nutrition and other healthy topics will also be discussed. Horseback Riding
Fall is a perfect season to go horseback riding. This beginner horseback riding class will cover grooming, saddling, riding, safety skills, as well as fun games. Hip Hop Dance
Classes will cover the foundation of break dance, popping and waving, hip hop steps, party moves, popular party line dances, and innovative dance games. Professional instructor Austin Dailey, AKA Bboy Red Supreme, shows students his creative approach to teaching street funk moves. Students will discover and develop their own freestyle ability. Besides learning new dance skills and some history about Hip Hop, Austins main goal is to get kids to build their self image. Only the hottest and appropriate dance music is used in class, so come find the beat and get funky when moving your feet. All beginners are welcome and no experience is needed.

Learn how to become a safe and responsible babysitter! This American Red Cross Program has been updated to include Basic Child Care, First Aid for breathing and bleeding emergencies, and injury prevention as well as covering other important topics to prepare young adults for babysitting. This class is an excellent opportunity to help students build self-confidence as well as job leadership and decision-making skills. Completion of the course will give students the opportunity to add their names to the HK Recreation Dept.Ős Babysitting Referral List. Golf Basics for Juniors
This is designed for the junior golfer who is new to the game as well as experienced golfers who need to work on the fundamentals of the swing. More advanced techniques will be covered for those who have taken the class before. The class will cover the full swing, approach shots and the short game. Archery teaches patience, concentration, and attention to detail. Being an individual sport, children will learn and have fun at their own pace. Crossroads Driving School
I: Full Program - this course includes 30 hours of classroom including the safe driving and alcohol program along with 8 hours of behind-the-wheel. II: Safe Driving and Drug and Alcohol Program - this 8-hour course fulfills the requirement of the State of CT for license applicants who choose a Home Training Program. This course also is now required for all new drivers, including those over the age of 18.
