Please note: when the camp goes on their field trips, there is no camp on-site during that time. If your child is enrolled in a sports camp, specialty camp or swim lessons during a camp field trip time - you must choose which program you are going to send them to. If they do not go on the field trip, it is the parents' responsibility to transport their child to the program as there will be no one at camp during that time.
Did you know......
If your child is signed up for Summer Camp and is registered to participate in any of our other programs held at the HS Complex such as swim lessons or a Sports Camp, we will walk them to and from the program! Please indicate on the
registration form what other programs they are registered for.Campers can sign-up for swim lessons during camp from 10:40 - 11:20 am and we will walk them there. See our Aquatic page for more info. Please fill out our regular Registration Form.
Important Information
- Each camper will be receiving one camp T-shirt to be worn on all field trips. This will allow for easier identification of our group. Shirts will be a different color this year.
- Please pack a daily lunch unless informed of a different arrangement. We do not have a refrigerator or microwave available so please pack "picnic style" lunches complete with an icepack. It gets HOT!
- Please send your child with sneakers everyday. This is an important safety issue - sandals, flip-flops, & open toe shoes are not allowed. Label all items brought to camp - clothes, towels, swimsuits, lunch boxes. Items left behind will be put in the camp lost and found until September 10th.
- We strongly encourage parents to provide sunscreen. Send a bottle clearly labeled with your child's name. Leave one note for the whole season requesting sunscreen to be applied as needed.
- There are certified lifeguards at the pool during camp hours. Lifeguards call for buddy checks several times during free swim. Camp children may sign up for swim lessons from 10:30 - 11:20 am and we will walk them there. There is a separate registration.
- Children are not allowed to bring toys from home (i.e. Nintendo DS, iPods, scooters, etc.) The HK Rec. Dept. is not responsible for lost or stolen toys.
