Liberty Bank Family Entertainment Series

Free Outdoor Summer Concerts sponsored by Liberty Bank and the HK Recreation Department! Bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy an evening of live entertainment at our local town green. Fun for the whole family! Food will be available - sold by the Haddam River Day Committee. An ice cream truck will also be present.
All shows are from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the Higganum Green. In the event of rain, all shows will be cancelled. Call the HK Recreation Hotline: 345-8334 in case of inclement weather.

Haddam Village Market will be available from 3:30 - 7:00 pm every Friday, rain or shine.

Friday, July 9th: Black and White
Since 1990, this band has adorned the stages of venues throughout New England, bringing forth their unique blend of high energy swing-blues and roots rock & roll. They use a rotating roster of notable frontmen including Gary Gramolini (Beaver Brown), Dave Howard (Roomful of Blues), Ted Stevens (seasonal guitarist w/ The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters), Eric Fontana (Steve Smith & The Nakeds), Chris "Stovall" Brown, and many others. Friday, July 16th: Cover Story, the Band
This six-piece band will keep you moving through the decades of hits from the 60's to today including Motown, Funk, R&B, Pop, 80's Rock, you name it. Enjoy a fun, interactive and fun stage show with seasoned professionals. This is a high-energy show with interactive play (tambourines and inflatable instruments) for any dancing children near the stage! Come out for an evening of family fun - you won't be disappointed. Friday, July 23rd: The Boomers
This musical duo plays "good times" classic rock and pop favorites! They sound like a bigger band too! Their song list includes many favorites such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Sweet Caroline", "Mustang Sally", "Cheeseburger in Paradise", and many more. Lots of audience singing and dancing will make for a fun family night.

Friday, July 30th: The Soul Sensations
The Soul Sensations are an exceptional band of seasoned musicians that perform can’t-sit-still dance music in the Soul, R&B, Funk, and Rock styles. The group consists of dazzling male and female lead singers, lush harmonies, and a fantastic rhythm section featuring grooving guitar, captivating keyboards, bodacious bass, and dynamic drums. Friday, August 6th: Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts
Blues Review Magazine describes Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts as “young East Coast masters of the jumpin’ West Coast sound.” Formed in 2000, the quartet has released two critically-acclaimed albums on their own Far-Tone Records label. The readers of the Hartford Advocate voted them "Best Blues Band in CT" in 2005, 2007 and 2008. In January of this year, the Blue Hearts represented the CT Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. It was their third appearance at the IBC. Kid's Entertainment Extravaganza

The HK Recreation Department has booked some funtastic shows. Children enrolled in our summer camp that week will be attending the show free of charge. All shows are at the HK HS Auditorium and are $2 per person.

John Higby has been entertaining audiences since the 1990's. Using skill, audience participation, and unicycles, John gets everyone of all ages excited about the "state of Yo". He has been named the 2008 Guinness World Record Holder and the 2008 World Yo-Yo Champion in Artistic Performance by ESPN Magazines's "Unsung Hero".
